Faz has worked as a senior leader at the heart of government, the private and public sectors as well as running her own business for ten years. She offers expert counsel on corporate responses to crisis situations and stakeholder management. And is adept at establishing and strengthening relationships and managing conflict and misunderstandings through engagement.
As Prime Minister Tony Blair’s Assistant Political Secretary, she advised on the publication of the Stephen Lawrence Report, collaborating with the Police Federation to co-ordinate with them on their response. She continued to advise the PM’s office in an ad hoc manner following the 9/11 and 7/7 terror attacks. She was instrumental in the setting up of the Prevent programme through her engagement with Muslim community leaders, whilst at the Commission for Racial Equality advising Sir Trevor Phillips.
Faz spent seven years at GTR, the UK’s largest railway, handling government and stakeholder relations during the 2018 timetable introduction, during a power surge which stopped the running of every single Thameslink Train, and led the corporate response, working closely with the CEO, DfT, Ministers, Police and Emergency services, Local Authority and MP’s when the operator made a decision based on safety concerns to run no trains to Britain Pride, the biggest event of the year on the network.
